Mumbai Police arrests terror mail suspects
{image-terror mail suspects_06102008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Mumbai, Oct 6: The Mumbai Crime Branch on Monday, Oct 6 arrested five persons from Pune in connection with the terror emails sent before and after the recent blasts in Delhi and Gujarat. Those arrested have been brought to Mumbai for further interrogation.
According to sources, one of those arrested is believed to be the main figure behind the threatening e-mails sent in the name of Indian Mujahideen, which even claimed responsibility for the blasts. Police officials said that the 'prized catch" worked in a reputed company in Pune and used to frequent to Mumbai for sending e-mails. All the arrests were made from the same flat and a substantial amount of provocative literature was also recovered. Officials revealed that the arrested are highly educated.
So far at least 20 suspects have been arrested from different parts of the country. Out of the 20, 11 persons were nabbed from Azamgarh alone while Mangalore and Pune resulted in four and five arrests respectively.
