Mumbai, Oct 6 (UNI) The officials of Anti-Narcotic Cell arrested eight drug peddlers, including an Israeli national and a woman, and detained 231 youth from a city-based pub for allegedly indulging in a rave party.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vishwas Nagare-Patil here today said acting on a tip-off, the ANC sleuths conducted a raid on 'Bombay 72 Degress East' pub at Juhu, a western suburb, late last night.
''When we raided the pub, we were searching for a peddler, but we have arrested eight peddlers including a woman and an Israeli national. Among the 231 detained youth 35 are girls,'' Mr Patil said.
Police have also seized 100 tablets of ecstacy, LDS drop and charas from the spot.
He said most of the youths are in the age group of 18 to 25 years and they were sent for medical examination. After getting the medical reports, the guilty would be booked accordingly.
The pub is owned by about six people, and one of the partners is said to be Bollywood film producer Prakash Mehra, he added.
