Industrialist's teenaged son murdered in Punjab
Sangrur, Oct 6 (UNI) The teenaged son of an industrialist was allegedly murdered outside the Sub Divisional Magistrate's (SDMs) residence in the sub divisional town of Malerkotla.
Giving details of the incident, SP (detective) Bhupinderjit Singh Virk said that the victim, identified as 18-year old Haroon, was murdered last night with a sharp edged weapon and his body was found outside the SDMs residence this morning.
Mr Virk said that investigations revealed that Haroon was hit by a sharp edged object during a fight with a group of sound technicians, who were part of an orchestra group, which was returning home after attending a marriage function. Incidentally, Haroon, alongwith nine to ten other teenagers, attended the same marriage function.
The police officer said that the incident occured when the victim, alongwith his friends, stopped the orchestra group on the way home and misbehaved with the girl artiste. The sound-technicians who were following the orchestra group immediately pounced on Haroon, while his friends managed to get away.
Mr Virk said that during the fight, the deceased was probably hit by a sharp edged object. He said that a case had been registered against three sound technicians, who are absconding.
