Patna, Oct 06 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Water Resources Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav today said that a high level meeting was held in between India and Nepal over the issue of construction of high dam on the river Kosi.
Mr Yadav said here today that both the countries discussed the issue in detail and a consensus was developed between the two nations for preparing a detail project report by the end of December 2009. The Joint Committee constituted for the rivers Kosi and Gandak had been extended and expanded further he said adding that the committee would meet in the month of October-November in Patna and in May-June in Kathmandu.
A three tier communication channel of minister, secretary and technical level was also formed in the meeting.
He said that the plugging off the breachd Kushaha embankment in Nepal was likely to be completed by December 2008.
