New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said her government was concentrating on expansion of healthcare facilities across the city with an aim to provide quality services at the doorsteps of the people.
''The government has planned a big expansion programme to open 17 more hospitals and hundreds of dispensaries to ensure reliable and quality health services to the residents.
It has been paying dividends as average age has gone up apart from increase in the number of institutional deliveries with opening of more mother, child health centers and implementation of ASHA and Mamta schemes,''Ms Dikshit said after laying foundation stone of a 125-bedded hospital at Sarita Vihar and a 50-bedded community hospital cum mother and child care centre at Molarband under Badarpur Assembly segment.
Speaking at the function, where Health Minister Yoganand Shastri, Local MP Sajjan Kumar and local MLA Ramvir Singh Bidhuri were present, Ms Dikshit said with the opening up of this hospital at Sarita Vihar near Badarpur, it was expected that this would be able to cater the needs of number of villages, unauthorized colonies and large number of localities situated inside territory of neighbouring state of Haryana.
