Singapore, Oct 6 (UNI) Indian businessmen in Asia Pacific will lead some 600 delegates to the two-day Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD), which is being held in Singapore for the first time on October 10.
Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and Mentor Minister Lee Kuan Yew would address the delegates on a wide range of issues including further business promotion between India and Singapore, Singapore's Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry, S Iswaran told a press conference today.
The meeting, divided into a number of business sessions and dialogues, would underline the growing trade between India and Singapore, which has increased to 24 billion dollars last year from 6.4 billion dollars in 2000, he said.
Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi, Minister of Commerce and Industry Kamal Nath, and Minister of Science and Technology Kapil Sibal will also be speaking at the two-day conference.
The seminar is organised by the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and India's Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs.
