Hubli, Oct 6(UNI) The Federation of Taluka Panchayath Presidents and Vice Presidents of Karnataka will stage protest by locking the TP offices on October 13 to express their displeasure over the utter negligence by the State Government towards solving the problems of the local bodies, Federation President Sridhar Rider said today.
Talking to newsmen here, he said that after the Belur declaration by Congress President Sonia Gandhi about Panchayath Raj system, Taluka Panchayaths were fully neglected. This has rendered the dream of Late Nazir Sab totally futile. He urged the Government to grant more finance to these institutions for effective implementation of rural development schemes.
He also asked the Government to associate Engineering division as it was earlier and also appealed the Chief Minister to hold the meeting of the Taluka Panchayath Presidents and Vice Presidents for solution to their problems.
