Congress MP Thummar held for breach of election code
Ahmedabad, Oct 6 (UNI) Congress MP Virji Thummar was arrested today for alleged breach of model code of conduct during the Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections, held in December 2007.
He was arrested in Amereli this morning and later released on bail.
According to Dhari (Saurashtra) police, a case of breach of election code of conduct was filed by election officials against Mr Thummar for making some personal allegations against state Chief Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders during the campaign for the assembly elections.
