Bangalore, Oct 6: Manoj Kumar (25), an employee with an MNC on Bannerghatta Road and resident of Vijayanagar, was found murdered in his house on Saturday, Oct 4 under mysterious circumstances.

Manoj was working for the software company for the past eight months and was staying alone. His father Subbe Gowda is a BMTC bus station controller in Channarayapatna. The police suspect a soured love affair could be one of the reasons. They said that according to the family members, one gold ring, a chain and his mobile phone are missing. His two-wheeler and car are untraceable. His friends Karthik, Kiran and Putta are absconding since the death.

On Saturday, Subbe Gowda tried to reach Manoj on his mobile but was unable to get through to him the whole day. A worried Subbe Gowda then asked his relative Prakash to visit Manoj"s house. Prakash went there promptly. When there was no response to the calling bell, Prakash peeped through the window and saw Manoj lying dead. His hands and legs were tied and socks stuffed into his mouth.

A police officer said: “During the investigation, several people from the locality said that Manoj had several friends and used to have parties in his house regularly. We are suspecting somebody from his own circle to be behind the crime."" The police officer also ruled out the possibility of murder for gain.
