Tiruchirapalli, Oct 5 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Transport Minister K N Nehru today said the State Government is keen to ensure neat and clean atmosphere in the residential localities, as it would lead to hygenic conditions.
Inaugurating a mass cleaning camp in Ahamed colony area here, Mr Nehru instructed the corporation commissioner T Palsamy, to take suitable steps to widen the existing culverts on Kathari vaikkal, as it would prevent easy flow of drain water.
Mr Palsamy said the corporation had decided to take up the mass cleaning camp in all the 60 wards in the city with the help of 350 NSS volunteers of various colleges in and around the city in addition to more than 1,700 scavengers of the corporation.
To ensure a clean atmosphere, notices have been sent to 65 pig growers in and around the city to leave their pigs outside the city, he said and added so far 35 pigs from different parts of the city weree been caught to leave them into the forest areas near the city.
