Security heightened at Haj House in UP
Lucknow, Oct 5 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government has decided to fix Close Circuit Television (CCTv) cameras in Haj House here in view of the rising terrorist strikes in the country.
Giving this information, UP Public Works Department (PWD) minister and chairman of state Haj Committee Naseemuddin Siddiqui today said the CCTvs were being installed as a precautionery step to foil the nefarious designs of the outlaws during the holy trip.
Besides, a temporary police chowki would be set up in the Haj House.
Only two attendants would be allowed to accompany each pilgrim in the Haj House and provided entry passes having validity of 36 hours, Mr Siddiqui informed.
To the main security, even the sweepers and staff of the Haj committee would be allowed entry only on these passes, he added.
The pilgrims would be allowed to carry up to 10 kg 'jamjam,' 10 kg hand bag and 45 kg luggage and on exceeding this, they would be charged Rs 60 per additional kg.
Special arrangements were also being made for the convenience of the worshippers in the Haj House, Mr Siddiqui quipped.
The flight for first batch of pilgrims from Lucknow, Varanasi and Delhi would leave on October 30.
