Srinagar, Oct 5 (UNI) There was no report of any violation of curfew imposed in the Kashmir valley, including summer capital Srinagar, early this morning.
According to police, the situation was by and large peaceful in all parts of the valley and no violation was reported so far.
Indefinite curfew was imposed in the valley early this morning to prevent people from participating in the Lal Chowk Chalo march tomorrow.
The march call was given by the Coordination Committee (CC), spearheading the present agitation in the Kashmir valley. The CC, an alliance of separatists, traders and lawyers, is demanding among other things release of all detenues, withdrawal of troops and special powers to security forces and opening of all cross-Line of Control (LOC) road for trade and free movement.
