Maoist ultras blow up mobile tower in Bihar
Gaya, Oct 5 (UNI) A group of Maoist rebels blew up a mobile phone tower of a private cellular company under Barachatti police station area in the extremist-dominated Gaya district.
Police here today said about a hundred extremists surrounded the tower and took the guard in their captivity by tying up his hands and feet yesterday.
Later, they exploded powerful explosives in the store room of the tower and also torched the generator. In the explosion the mobile tower was damaged completely.
After their operation, the Maoists fled shouting pro-extremist slogans.
Police said the insurgents blew up the tower to disrupt communication links.
Raids were on to nab the extremists.
