Jaipur, Oct 5 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) will contest around 30 to 35 of the 200 Assembly seats in Rajasthan in the next elections due to be held in November.
Party national secretary Atul Kumar Anjan made this announcement here today after the party's two-day state executive meet and released the first list of the candidates for 15 seats.
He said party had already identified the assembly segments to be contested and the second list of the candidates would be out soon.
Calling both the main political formations led by the Congress and the BJP as "Anti-People", the Communist Leader said,'' His party , besides, forging understanding with the other leftist parties will work to strengthen other pro-people secular and progressive parties.'' UNI SS GT BST1839
