Mangalore, Oct 5 (UNI) Condemning the police ordering places of worship in Daxina Kannada not to hold Sunday worships and submit licenses to hold prayers, All India Christian Council (AICC) today demanded that Karnataka Home Minister, who was responsible for issuing such an order, should be immediately sacked.
Addressing a press conference here, after two-day visit to the rural places of worship in Daxina Kannada, AICC Secretary General and member of National Integration Council (NIC) John Dayal alleged that Karnataka Home Minister V S Acharya's continuing oral attacks on the prayer halls and his defence of Sangh Parivar clearly showed his commitment to the fascist cause and conspiracy.
Governor and the Chief Minister of the state must sack Dr Acharya, he added.
He demanded that if the police order census on those attending the Sunday prayers, then it should also issue such notices to all other places of worship in the entire country.
Alleging that Chief Minister was no less pugnacious in defence of the Hindu Parivar, Dr Dayal said his critique of the prayer halls has revealed that the continuing attack on the minority community was a well thoughtout and planned conspiracy.
Rule of law was inoperative on a widespread level and anarchy was prevalent in the affected districts of Orissa and Karnataka, he alleged and said the AICC would demand the Union Government to send contingent of the Indian army to Kandhamal district where violence continued unabated against the minority.
He said it would also demand sacking of the Home Minister of Orissa with senior police officials and a CBI investigation into the circumstances leading to the murder of VHP Vice-President Lakshmananada Saraswati and the organised violence.
