Mysore, Oct 5 (UNI) The Indian Air Force and Army personnel enthralled crowds with their flying mechines in a spectacular airshow as part of the Dasara festivites at the Bannimantap stadium here today.
The show began with 'Adarsh' demonstrating a remote-controlled model of Cessna aircraft, carrying a banner 'Welcome to Mysore Dasara', 2008.
The remote-controlled models of MIG, Bell 22 and Raptor 30 were also demonstrated.
The deep penetration fighter plane Jaguar held the spectators in awe, as it stooped low only to soar up in the sky again with a deafening noise.
An MIG 8 helicopter hovered above the stadium for a while and made a rapid descent.
Other planes to arrive for the show were HPT-32 Deepak, HJT 16 Kiran and MK -2 used for pilot training.
Watching three Jaguars, fighter bombers flying past at a breathtaking speed of about 1,300 km was a awesome spectacle for the crowd.
It was followed by another fighter plane, MIG 21, and Vikram.
The transport and communication aircraft, and two Dornier aircrafts performed the 'Small Boy' formation in air in very close proximity that was preceded by another formation by Kiran aircraft.
All these aircraft took off from Yelahanka base in Bangalore.
The packed-staidum, which witnessed the airshow and aerobatics would inspire the youngsters in the city and encourage them to take up a career in aviation or the IAF.
The district authorities had also arranged a special motorcycling adventure from the military forces.
