Shivpuri, MP, Oct 4 (UNI) The famous Tunda tourist spot -- named after notorious dacoit Tunda -- has been thrown open for the tourists in Madhav National Park here.
Bharkha Kho area, which was blessed with fresh water and lush green forests, became natural hideouts for several dacoits including Tunda, Dayaram, Rambabu Gadaria gang.
The area remained under the terror of Tunda for a considerable time hence the name Bharkha Kho changed into Tunda. Following the continuous movement in the area, tourists refrained from visiting the place.
Now after the joint efforts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh police, most of the dacoit gangs have been wiped out from the area, the place thrown open for the tourists.
It possesses a waterfall, natural and scenic beauty in the bosom of tranquility and serenity.
Park Director Alok Kumar said that all the necessary arrangements have been made for the tourists with certain entry fee.
