Kathmandu, Oct 4 : Nepal Minister for Water Resources Bishnu Poudel has said the government will make all efforts to meet the target of generating 10,000 MW hydroelectricity and provide electricity to every household in the next 10 years.
Addressing an interaction on 'Water Resources and Energy Development' organised by the Engineering Study Group (ESTUG) here on Friday, Poudel said the government wanted to make changes in the way its mechanisms have been working.
"If we go by the old work culture, it will be impossible for the government to achieve the 10,000 MW target," he said.
"The goal can be achieved if the new government moves ahead in a dynamic way on the basis of national consensus," he added
He further said the government wants to make full use of the skill, labour and capital of Nepalis.
He also said that the government would work for amendments of acts and regulations related to water resources in line with the changing times so as to build a new Nepal. Nepalnews reported.
