MP beaten up by Railway Police
Bhopal, Oct 4: The condition of BJP Member of Parliament Virendra Kumar Khatik from Sagar who was beaten up allegedly on Friday, Oct 3 by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel on Friday, Oct 3 is out of danger, confirmed doctors on Saturday, Oct 4. The MP was beaten up when he was protesting near Bina Railway Station against the removal of encroachments from Chhoti Bajaria area. Khatik, who suffered injuries on his head, back and a finger, was admitted to the city-based Hamidia Hospital. The MP was out of danger and has been advised complete rest, Dr D K Verma said.
Verma said there were ten stitches on Khatik's head. Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police S K Raut has asked Railway IG Mohan Rao to conduct an inquiry into the incident and submit a report within three days.
Raut, who visited the hospital to inquire about the lawmaker's condition, said action would be taken in the case once the probe report is submitted.
