Mah govt announces adhoc payment of Rs 2,400 cr to 18 lakh employees

Mumbai, Oct 04 (UNI) Maharashtra Finance Minister Jayant Patil today said the state government employees will get two months basic pay or Rs 10,000, whichever is greater as an adhoc payment for the Sixth Pay Commission.

Mr Patil told UNI that the details of the implementation of the commission would be worked out by Hakim committee, but as several unions were agitating the government today announced this adhoc payment, which would incur a burden of Rs 2,400 crore on the state exchequer and would be paid on October 22 to 18 lakh government and semi government employees.

Mr Patil, state employees union president R G Karnik, Yogiraj Khonde, G S Shetye and Sunil Joshi discussed about the issue today.
