Tashkent, Oct 4 (UNI) Fourth seed Sabine Lisicki continued with her splendid run, as she toppled top seed Shuai Peng of China and set up a title clash with third seeded Sorana Cirstea (Romania) at the 10th edition of the Tashkent Open Tennis here today.
In the semifinals, Sabine Lisicki displayed steel of nerves to upset the fancied top seed Peng Shuai 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 in a 2hr 15min thriller.
In contrast, third seeded and world ranked 46th player Sorana Cirstea did not have to work too hard as the fifth seeded Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia retired due to stomach cramps with the score reading 6-3 in favor of Cirstea.
Both players will clash in their first ever WTA tour event final tomorrow.
The semifinalists received 6,765 dolars each and 50 WTA points.
The winner will get 22,925 dollars and 115 points and the runners-up 12,450 dollars and 80 WTA points Ioana Raluca Olaru of Romania and Olga Savchuk of Ukraine won their first ever doubles career title on the WTA tour.
The winning pair of Olaru and Savchuk scraped past the pair of Nina Bratchikova of Russia and Kathrin Woerle of Germany 5-7, 7-5, 10-7 in a close encounter.
The winners received the winner's purse of 6,760 dollars and 115 points, while the runners-up had to be content with 3,670 dollars and 80 points.
