Chennai, Oct 4 (UNI) Karnataka trounced Andhra by huge 177 runs and gained full five points on the fourth and final day of the inter state south zone Under-22 cricket championship for P Ramachandra Rao trophy here today.
Chasing a target of 292 in a minimum of 68 overs, Andhra who were 105 for 3 at one stage, collapsed to 114 in 47.2 overs.
Karnataka's Sunil N Raju claims five wickets conceding only 18 runs.
For Andhra Pradesh B Sumanth was the lone fighter as he scored 57 with the help of nine fours.
Earlier, resuming their second innings at the overnight score of 169 for 2, Karnataka declared the innings closed at 306 for seven wickets.
Tamil Nadu had defeated Goa outright to gain six points while Hyderabad blanked Kerala and claimed the full six points in the other first round matches which ended yesterday.
