Vadodara, Oct 4 (UNI) Security was beefed up in this traditional Garba capital following an anonymous letter threatening bomb attack on some major crowd-pulling Garba venues.
Police swung into action and alerted all garba organisers to further tighten their security immediately after the threat letter was found from a letter box belonging to a well known masala shop at the Mandvi circle here today.
The anonymous letter threatened bomb attack on the famous garba venues of the United Way of Baroda, Maa Shakti and Mandvi's Ambamata temple to take revenge of the arrest of Ahmedabad serial blasts' mastermind Mufti Abdul Bashar Qasmi.
After receiving the threat letter, police conducted a thorough search of all these venues with the help of sniffer dogs and metal detectors.
In view of the threat perception, most of the leading garba organisers in the city have insured their nine-night long programme with hefty premium besides deploying private securitymen and installing CCTV cameras.
