Fresh incident of stone pelting reported from Dungarpur
Dungarpur, Oct 4 (UNI) A fresh incident of stone throwing was reported from Bhadaswada area of the city even as most of the shops and business establishments remained closed for the second day today in this Sourthern Rajasthan town.
Superintendent of Police Balmukund Varma said people of two communities again clashed with each other this morning and threw stones.
However, the police immediately intervened and controlled the situation before it took an ugly turn.
The situation continued to be tense in the town following incidents of clashes between groups of two communities on October 2.
The Bajrang Dal had organised a bandh yesterday to protest against Thursday's incidents, but violence erupted during the bandh as some miscreants set afire about half a dozen shops.
Twenty-seven people were arrested in this connection. Some weapons had also been seized by the police.
