BCPC take out rally in Nashik for their demands
Nashik, Oct 4 (UNI) Members of the Bank Consumers' Protection Committee (BCPC) today took out a rally to the district collectorate here, to press for their demands.
At least 500 people including workers, traders, employees and businessmen took part in the rally, led by CITU leader Dr D L Karad and organiser Kantilal Tated, that started from the Golf Club grounds and reached the collectorate.
A memorandum of the demands including cancellation of floating interest rate system, implementation of fixed interest rate system on various loans such as home loans and vehicle loans, increase in interest rate on savings and interest on Cash Reserve Ratio to banks by the Reserve Bank of India, was given to the district collector S Chokkalingam.
''We have written letters to the Prime Minister, Finance Minister, RBI Governor and Minister of State in the Prime Minister's office Prithiviraj Chauhan in this regard. We have also taken nearly 10,000-15,000 signatures and plan to make it to more than a lakh, in support of our demands. We begun the agitation here today, but plan to take it across the state and then the nation,'' Mr Tated told UNI.
