Two Lashker militants killed in Kashmir
Srinagar, Oct 3 (UNI) Two militants of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) were killed by security forces in a joint operation in south Kashmir, a police spokesman said today.
He said security forces and Special Operation of Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a joint operation at village Darwani Zainpora in Shopian following a tip off about the presence of militants there.
During operation an encounter ensued after militants opened fire when challenged by the security forces. The fire was returned and in the fierce clash two militants of LeT were killed.
Two AK 56 rifles, three magazines, 59 rounds of ammunition, two hand grenades, one wireless set and two pouches were recovered from the slain militants identified as Abdullah resident of Pakistan and Rayees Ahmad resident of Patipora Pulwama.
Abdullah was involved in the killing of a CRPF jawan and kidnapping of two non local teachers from Aglar, Pulwama.
