RIL to begin test runs of Jamnagar refinery
New Delhi, Oct 3: Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) is set to begin test runs of its new refinery at Jamnagar in Gujarat and may commission it within a month.
''Test runs will begin in next few days,'' a company offical said at the sidelines of India Energy Conference here on . Fuel from this 5,80,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery, set up by RIL unit Reliance Petroleum at a cost of six billion dollars in Jamnagar Special Economic Zone (SEZ), will be mainly exported to the US and European markets. The different units of the refinery will be commissioned step by step.
''We will commission in phases...we could reach full capacity within a days of starting production,'' he said.
Initially, the company will produce Euro-IV grade petrol and diesel and will upgrade to Euro-V once more complicated units like DHDS are commissioned, he said.
