Over 6 lakh tonne paddy arrives in Haryana mandis
Chandigarh, Oct 3 (UNI) The arrival of paddy in the mandis of Haryana is picking up and over six lakh tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis during the current Kharif season so far.
Stating this here today, a spokesman for the Food and Supplies Department said that out of the total paddy arrival, 3.53 lakh tonnes has been procured by government agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining about 2.47 tonnes has been purchased by the private millers and traders.
He said Hafed has procured 1.50 tonnes, Food and Supplies Department 1.04 tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 34.93 tonnes, Confed 54,229 tonnes and FCI 86 tonnes.
He said district Kurukshetra was leading with the arrival of 1.98 tonnes of paddy followed by Karnal 1.62 tonnes, Fatehabad 65.92 tonnes and Kaithal 63,683 tonnes.
