Itanagar, Oct 3: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu has announced a huge development package for Chayang Tajo under East Kameng district during his visit to the remote SDO headquarters.
Official sources while responding to a memorandum submitted by district Zilla Parishad Chairperson here today said, the Chief Minister assured to provide adequate funds for construction of community hall, quarter renovation, schemes under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak yojana (PMGSY), construction of Holling and Yangfo bridges and school playground by this fiscal.
He also assured to take up the upgradation of secondary school to higher secondary school by the current fiscal. He, however, clarified that the upgradation of SDO headquarters to independent ADC headquarters had certain technical problems as it did not meet the required population criteria.
He appealed to the people to help the government in its endeavour to develop the area.
Urging for judicious utilisation of funds, he revealed that the improvement of the road between Seppa and Chayang Tajo, which had been their major demand, had already been awarded tender and the Rs 90 crore project would start soon.
He called upon the people to assist the firms and contractors coming for the projects by extending all possible help.
''I wish that development of this remote area should be at par with other regions,'' Mr Khandu said.
He also informed the people about his effort in changing the nomenclature from Dafla to Nyishi and extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Cabinet colleagues for taking up the matter in Parliament.
