Kangra, Oct 3 (UNI) In view of the increasing number of medical and dental colleges in the state, the Himachal Pradesh Government is contemplating to set up a Medical University at Tanda.
This was stated by Chief Minister P K Dhumal while addressing a gathering after inaugurating Rs 12 crore Shoba Singh Auditorium here today.
Speaking on the occasion he said the university would be set up in Tanda where Dr RP Government Medical College (DRPGMC) is functioning.
He said work on the Vivekananda Medical and Research Institute VMRI Palampur would start in this month and both DRPGMC Tanda and VMRI Palampur would serve the people of this state.
He said DRPGMC was dream project of his Government and hoped that the posts of the faculty members would be filled up soon.
Health Minister Rajeev Bindal said private wards in the DRPGMC would be available to patients by the end of this month.
