Haridwar railway station accorded A-1 status
Dehra Dun, Oct 3 (UNI) The Haridwar Railway station has been accorded A-1 status, making it the first station in the Moradabad Division to be granted the privilege.
The station will now undergo a security overhaul with CCTV cameras and sniffer dogs being the protocol apart from providing better facilities to passengers.
This has been necessitated in view of security requirements and to beautify the station ahead of the 2010 Kumbh Mela, Manager Railway Division Moradabad Onkar Singh told mediapersons.
Notably, the district is a soft target for terrorists with several letters received by the railway station warning of blasts at vital installations and religious places.
