5th accused in German tourist molestation case surrenders
Chandigarh, Oct 3 (UNI) The fifth fugitive, accused in the German tourist molestation case, today surrendered in the local court here, which sent him into two-day police custody.
Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Kanchan Mahi sent the other four accused in the case, Pankaj, Harpreet Singh alias Dalli, Manjit Singh alias Jolly and Sukkhi, into judicial custody on the expiry of their police remand today.
The fifth accused, Sompal, was sent to two-day police custody.
The accused had allegedly abducted a German woman from outside the Taj Hotel here on the night of September 28 and drove her in a jeep to a farm house where they kept her overnight and allegedly molested her.
The woman, who had come here to attend a friend's marriage, had gone to the Taj Hotel along with other friends to have coffee and the accused ''lured'' her into their vehicle when she came out to have a smoke at the hotel parking.
