Rains in some North-Eastern states

Pune, Oct 2 (UNI) Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

They are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal and Sikkim, and at isolated places in Bihar, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, Konkan, Goa, south central Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, coastal and south interior Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep.

Dry weather is likely to prevail over Orissa, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Saurashtra, Kutch, Marathwada, Rayalseema and north interior Karnataka.

The south-west monsoon has subdued in West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, coastal and north interior Karnataka and Kerala.

In the region from where the south-west monsoon has withdrawn, day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan, and were above normal in Uttarakhand.

They were below normal in some parts of Punjab.

The night temperatures were appreciably above normal in Haryana and Rajasthan, and in some parts of Punjab. They were above normal in Uttarakhand and were normal over the rest of the regions.

Mainly dry weather had prevailed in West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, central Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalseema, coastal and north interior Karnataka and Kerala.
