Punjab Health Minister flags off 'Run For Good Health '
Chandigarh, Oct 2 (UNI) Punjab Health Minister Laxmi Kanta Chawla today underlined the need for adopting healthy way of life to keep away the 'lifestyle diseases'.
Speaking before flagging off 'Run for Good Health' organised by Employees State Insurance Corporation here today in which industrialists, employers, industrial workers and their family members participated, the Health Minister said that it was unfortunate that sedentary lifestyles in the urban areas was responsible for most of the diseases inflicting families.
She said that if every citizen devotes one hour daily for physical exercise and yoga, he or she could keep healthy through out life.
The three and a half kilometer race ended at ESI Corporation office in Sector-19, here.
Later in the day, Mr Sanjay Kumar, UT Finance Secretary gave away prizes to the winners of the race.
Mr G C Jena, Regional Director ESI, Mr Ramesh Chander, Medical Superintendent ESI were also present on the occasion.
