Hyderabad, Oct 2 (UNI) Newly-formed Praja Rajyam has started its flag hoisting celebration in Andhra Pradesh with its Actor-Founder Chiranjeevi unfurling the party flag at the party office and giving the first membership to Mr Balakrishna, a physically handicapped person.
Mr Chiranjeevi called upon well-wishers and sympthisers of the party to participate in the flag hoisting ceremonies in their respective places all over the State.
Party flags would be hoisted at all the districts, mandals and villages all over the State.
As part of the flag hoisting celebrations, party offices at the district and mandal-level would be opened, he said.
After taking the second membership, Mr Chiranjeevi gave membership to several well-wishers and sympathisers at the party office.
All arrangements had been made for planting one crore saplings during the week-long function to protect the environment, Mr Chiranjeevi said and called upon his partymen to take up the programme as a social cause.
He would undertake road shows from Ichapuram in Srikakulam District on October nine, the auspicious day of 'Vijayadasami.' The first phase of the programme would commence from the North Coastal Districts.
Chiranjeevi would commecne his eight-day tour after offering prayers at the Sun Temple at Arasavalli in Srikakulam District and interacting with a cross section of people to know their problems, including suggestions for party agenda, party sources said.
Earlier, Mr Chiranjeevi garlanded the portrait of Mahama Gandhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and organised a blood donation camp.
Later, he left for Gangapalli, a remote village in Warangal District, to participate in local programmes there.
