Hyderabad Oct 2: Floral tributes were paid to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 139th birth anniversary in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, Oct 2.

Chakrapani, MPs, MLAs and senior officials were among those who garlanded the statue of the ''Mahatma'' at various places in the city.
Mr Tiwari and Dr Rajasekhara Reddy today visited the 'Bapughat' and garlanded the statue while the Speaker Suresh Reddy garlanded the Statue at Assembly premises.
Later, several Congress partymen, including the Chief Minister and the Council Chairman, garlanded the portrait of Former Prime Minister Lal Bahudur Sastri at Gandhi Bhavan on the occasion of his birth anniversary and remembered his services to the nation.
Leaders of various political parties also garlanded the statue to mark the occasion.
Earlier, rich tributes were paid to a decorated portrait of the ''Mahatma'' and 'Sastri' at the PCC office in which State Ministers, Parliament Memebrs and Legislators, Council Members and several party functionaries participated.
