Intra Maharashtra flight services to begin from Oct 4
Nagpur, Oct 2 (UNI) Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel today said the intra Maharashtra flight services between Mumbai, Nanded, Solapur, Nashik and Kolhapur will start from October four.
Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of launch of Jawaharlal Darda Art Gallery at Lokmat Bhavan here, Mr Patel said flights between the district and Chennai are also on anvil.
Revealing about the plans to develop Vidharba as an aviation hub, Mr Patel said the Helicopter Pilot's Academy at Gondia has already started functioning with 30 helicopters being used to train pilots.
He promised an air cargo service in the region soon.
Mr Patel said transfer of Multimodal International Hub Airport at Nagpur land in the district to Airport Authority of India will be finalised by the end of October.
Union Minister for non-conventional energy resources Vilas Muttemwar, state textile minister Satish Chaturvedi, state minister for public works Anil Deshmukh, state minister for animal husbandry Anees Ahmed and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
