The Chief Minister was speaking on the occasion of the 139th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, after attending an all-religion prayer meeting at Kirti Mandir, the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi here, said that Gandhian ideology is the best way to fight against terrorism and global warming. Mr Modi also assured that Mahatma Gandhi's dream of 'Gram Swaraj' would be accomplished by his government through several village oriented schemes.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation of the collectorate office at Sandipani road here. The building would be completed in a year at a cost of Rs six crore.
Mr Modi also unveiled five statues in the city in two different places.
First, the chief minister unveiled the statue of Shivaji Maharaj at Chaupati, and the other four statues of Gandhiji, Kasturba, Sudama and his wife Sushilaji at D S P Traffic circle here.
