Chennai, Oct 2: Former captain Sourav Ganguly, who was retained in the Indian squad for the first two Tests against Australia, said he will prove his form and selection when he plays against the visitors.
Speaking to mediapersons here at the airport where he arrived from Kolkata this morning, Ganguly said ''I have been performing well. You will see with your own eyes when I play against the Australia.'' Asked about the Australian team, the former India captain said, ''They are a very good team and are capable of playing well in every condition. You have to be careful while playing against them.'' Ganguly further added that he was hopeful that the Indians would come good against the World Champions and win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy this time.
''I hope we play well and better than them (Australia) to win the series,'' said Ganguly who is here to play for India A against the New Zealand A in the second four-day match at the M A Chidambaram Stadium, beginning tomorrow.
Ganguly also thanked the new selection committee of the BCCI for showing their confidence on him. ''I thank the BCCI for having confidence in my talent.''
