Chandigarh, Oct 2 (UNI) The Haryana Janhit Congress (BL) today kicked off its election campaign for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, with its newly elected president Kuldip Bishnoi making his intentions clear of ensuring the defeat of the Congress in all the ten Parliamentary constituencies of the state.

" There is no question of joining hands or supporting the Congress led by Mrs Sonia Gandhi", he said while accusing Mrs Gandhi of following "corrupt practices and wrong policies".

Addressing mediapersons after his party's national convention which elected his president for a period of two years, Mr Bishnoi made it clear that his party had no intention of forging a prepoll alliance with any political party. " No one has approached us so far and nor have we talked to anyone", he said when asked about the possibilities of any alliance with the BJP-led NDA or the BSP.

Regarding a possible alliance with the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), Mr Bishnoi said " I will never go along with Mr O P Chautala, I cannot stoop so low".

Asked about his post Lok Sabha stand in case his party won a couple of seats in the elections, Mr Bishnoi said " Whoever gives Haryana the best package, we will support that party of alliance".

However in the same breath he categorically ruled out extending support to the Congress or the UPA after the polls.

Earlier Mr Bishnoi was unanimously elected as the president of the Haryana Janhit Congress for a period of two years in the presence of senior leaders of the party, including his father and former chief minister Bhajan Lal. He succeeds Mr Devi Lal, who resigned recently citing health grounds.
