Arunachal gets first DC for Capital Complex
Itanagar, Oct 2 (UNI) IAS officer Padmini Singla has taken over as the first Deputy Commissioner (DC) for the Capital Complex of Arunachal Pradesh.
With Ms Singla taking charge yesterday, there would be two DCs in Papum Pare district - one for the Capital Complex and the other for the remaining circles of the district, official sources informed here today.
A separate administration for the Capital Complex was a long felt need of the people since there has been a manifold increase of the population and activities in and around the capital cities in the last decade.
The Capital DC will have jurisdiction over administrative circles of Itanagar, Naharlagun and Banderdewa and have all the power and functions of a DC.
However, the district rural development agency, election and session court will be with the Papum Pare DC, while the district urban development agency will be under the Capital DC, whose office had started working from the old MLA Cottage in Naharlagun, the sources said.
