Nagpur, Oct 1 (UNI) A two-day International festival of films on Mahatma Gandhi -- 'Gandhi Panorama 2008' -- will be held at Sewagram in Wardha district from tomorrow.
Speaking to reporters here, short film and documentary maker Devendra Khandelwal, the organiser, said the festival, which would be held every five years, would feature 26 shorts films and documentaries from 12 countries. Besides India, the participating countries were Canada, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Macedonia, Spain, Switzerland, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States, he said.
The opening film of the festival, to be held at an auditorium near Gandhiji Ashram in Sewagram, would be a 27-minute ''A Road to Gandhi'' from Germany, directed by Christian Troberg, Mr Khandelwal said. Mr Troberg would be present at the screening of the inaugural film, he added.
The festival would conclude with a Bhajan recital by renowned singer Prabhanjay Chaturvedi, Mr Khandelwal said.
Mr Khandelwal, who heads the Indian Infotainment Media Corporation (IIMC), a film production house, will direct a television serial on Mahatma Gandhi to be aired by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
