Pawan, Ganesh put K'taka on course to huge total

Chennai, Oct 1 (UNI) Centuries by Opener K B Pawan (166) and Ganesh Satish (107) put Karnataka on course to a big total at close on the opening day of the four-day P Ramachandra Rao Trophy Cricket Match against Andhra Pradesh here today.

The duo added 219 for the second wicket in 66 overs as Karnataka finished the day at a healthy 305 for 4 in 90 overs.

Pawan struck 21 fours and 2 sixers in his 27-ball knock, while Ganesh's 214-ball eassay was studded with 11 boundaries.

In other matches, Tamil Nadu were 258 for 5 against Goa with openers L Suryaprakash (85, 10x4) and Abhinav Mukund (56, 8x4, 1x6) adding 99 for the first wicket. V Maruthi Raghav scored an unbeaten 48.

Kerala, batting first, were bowled out for 124 in 57.3 overs against Hyderabad. Opener Abhishek Hegde ploughed a lone furrow with a knock of 63 as Kerala lost wickets at regular intervals.

In reply, Hyderabad were 92 for one in 30 overs with Akshay Reddy unbeaten on 53.
