Parliamentary system not acceptable: Maoists
Kathmandu, Oct 1 (UNI) Senior CPN-Maoist leader CP Gajurel has said the Parliamentary system was not acceptable to the Maoists and his party would establish a People's Republic through the new constitution, media reports said here.
'' Maoists launched the 'people's war' for the establishment of the People's Republic and would not back off from their aim,'' Kantipur quoted Gajurel as saying while speaking at a programme in Kathmandu today.
The Maoist leader Gajurel flouted the democratic system and dubbed the Parliamentary System as regressive and said it had failed in the world.
Parliament is not democratic and it is not acceptable to us, he said.
Nepali Congress (NC) leader Minendra Rijal said the Maoist activities were anarchic and that the NC would fight the Maoist strategy to capture the state power.
Maoist leaders have been making contradictory statements since they came to power, as some of the leaders saying that they would accept Democratic system and were committed to multi-party Parliamentary system and freedom and some said the party would establish Peoples' Republic.
