Srinagar, Oct 1 (UNI) The five-day-long encounters in the woods of central Kashmir ended yesterday in which nine militants and a soldier were killed, officials said today.
They said the troops and Jammu and Kashmir police launched a joint operation at Lawanaz forest on Bandipora-Kangan heights on September 26.
The operation ended last evening, they said adding nine militants were killed. A soldier also lost his life. A large cache of arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, they added.
