Medical students in tizzy after MCI cancels college recognition
Bareilly, Oct 1 (UNI) Students created ruckus after Medical Council of India (MCI) cancelled recognition of Roohelkhand Medical college putting the future of hundreds of students at stake.
The guardians and students continued protest for the third day today against the college administration here for hiding facts from them and duping them with illegal admission.
It was noted that MCI had cancelled the medical college recognition for not meeting the set norms, however, the college initiated counselling and admitted students for the MBBS first year course.
Later, the news of cancellation spread like a fire and anxious students contacted MCI over the same. MCI also conceded that the degree or certificate provided by the college would not get any recognistion from MCI and the course would be considered unauthorised.
The students went on protest against the college administration for hiding facts and spoiling their future.
Meanwhile, the college administration had assured the agitating students and guardians that their future is in safe hands and the admissions were only done after getting permission from the Union Ministry for Health.
