Kidwai greets people on Eid
Chandigarh, Oct 1 (UNI) Haryana Governor A R Kidwai today greeted the people of Haryana on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri birth Anniversary.
In his message, the Governor urged the people celebrate Id-ul-Fitr with a spirit of communal harmony, peace, love, cooperation and mutual understanding which would go a long way in strengthening the national unity and integrity.
He said this festival disseminated the message of universal brotherhood, love and equality among humanity.
Paying his tributes to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, the Governor said Mahatma Gandhi freed India from the Britishers by utilising moral weapons of truth, non-violence and satyagrah.
''We should also rededicate ourselves to follow Gandhi's eternal message of non-violence and tolerance for the progress and prosperity of the country,'' he said.
