Hilary Swank roped in for 'Betty Anne Waters'
Washington, October 1 : Actress Hilary Swank is set to star in 'Betty Anne Waters' drama, which will be directed by Tony Goldwyn.
Based on a true story, the 'Million Dollar Baby' star shall play the title role as a single mother who though is a high school dropout, but works her way to college and law school - to free her innocent brother convicted for murder.
She juggles between her kids and work but that does not stop her from becoming a lawyer so that she can represent her brother after his attempts to appeal his conviction through public defenders have been exhausted.
"There is a spirit and indomitability that Hilary brings that is a strong match for this character's fierce commitment," Variety quoted Goldwyn as saying.
The director has revealed that his first project meeting happened soon after the woman's brother was released in 2001.
He further added that his meeting was an unforgettable one since it was held in New York on the day of the World Trade Centre terror attacks.
