Ganguly selected for the Tests against Australia
Mumbai, Oct 1: Sourav Ganguly has been included in the squad for the first two Tests against Australia. Test series is sheduled to begin at Bangalore on Oct 9. The newly appointed Selection committee which met under Chairmanship of Krishnamchari Srikkanh included Sourav Ganguly for the first two Tests thereby ending all speculation.
Ganguly's place in the squad was under heavy speculation after he was dropped from Irani Cup. India 'A' and Tamil Nadu captain Subramaniam Badrinath has been picked as the other middle-order batsman in the 14-man squad. Delhi spinner Amit Mishra has also been recalled to India's Test squad after three years. He is the third specialist spinner in the team and has been picked ahead of Pragyan Ojha, Piyush Chawla and Murali Kartik.
