Supaul, Oct 01 (UNI) Bihar police arrested five homeguards from a flood relief camp here today for molesting a woman and beating her relatives.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Shaishav Yadav said the accused tried to molest a woman in a flood relief camp at Pipra block and when her relatives rushed to the spot, the homeguards beat them mercilessly.
Protesting the incidents, the irate flood victims and local people blocked the NH 106, disrupting the vehicular movement for several hours.
Following intervention of senior police officers, the blockade was lifted.
Later, the guilty homeguards were suspended and arrested.
